Today we are rolling out a new fun feature for the Designer tool. Starting today designers will be able to send in their designs for gSm to use for goCodes, competition prizes, icon hunts etc. This is an exciting feature that we have been planning to add since the designer tool was still being worked on and there are still more features to come.
Who will be able to send in event designs?
Everyone, there are no tier limitations on this feature.
How do I do it?
Go to your design and look under "Submit for event use". Click the link and and read the confimation message, if you are sure you would like to proceed, click ok. After you have done so it will now be ready to be submitted like as usual. You will also be reminded that you have enabled this option when you submit your design.
What if i change my mind after submitting?
You can change wheter or not you allow the design to be used for events at any point up until the design has been approved. Changing this setting does not take your design out of the queue or reset its position.
Will designers be compensated?
Yes, since the items won’t be in the shop designers will not make gM of it the normal way. If the design gets approved as an event design the designer will immediately receive 50 000 gM for the design as well as 4 designer points for each unique item.
What happens if you don’t want to use the design for any event?
If we don’t have any suitable use case for the design we can instead approve it for the shop. This means that if you submit something and give us permission to use it for events but we don’t have a need for it, we can approve it to be used for the community shop instead. You would then be able to release it like you normally would.
Will all items in the design be used?
It’s not guaranteed that all items will be used or that they will be used at the same time. goCodes are generally 1-3 items and competition prizes are generally between 5-7 items. If your design is larger than that or has a lot of recolours then it is likely that we will need to leave out some items/colours. Therefore we might favor designs of those sizes with none or few recolours as to avoid excess unused items.
How will you decide what designs you want to use?
When something is submitted for event use we will take into account upcoming things we could use some items for and if the design is suitable for any of that. For example for Halloween we would be looking out for things that are Halloween themed and for the winter holiday we might look for things that are winter themed. If we are looking for an outfit that is to be used for a very special competition prize we would likely prioritise more intricate items of higher quality. We will not decide based on how many times a specific designer has been chosen before and we acknowledge that this means that practised designers are often more likely to be featured.
Are there any items that you do not want to use for events?
For things like goCodes, competition prizes and icon hunt rewards etc. there are a few types of items that we avoid including. It is important that these rewards are inclusive, therefore we do not want to include make-up, body shading, tattoos or religious symbols.
Will the event designs be used for things that cost IRL money?
No, we will not put any community made items in anything that costs IRL money like premium refreshments, goPacks etc.
What if I want to adjust my design after you have approved it as an event design?
After it has been approved as an event design you can no longer make any edits to the design even if it has not been used yet. However we can still override the items and can help you fix mistakes if it is needed.
Will I receive my items?
You will be sent the items as they are released.
Will this count towards my total amount of released designs?
Yes, if your design is approved for event use it will be counted the same as a design released in the shop and will help get you closer to the next tier.
