A long time requested update is coming tomorrow! We will be adding 14 new sub-categories to your wardrobes to help make your wardrobe more intuitive. The new categories were based on what the review team noticed were the hardest to keep consistent as well as feedback from the community.
We are also adding a new main category to help keep the accessories category neat and to not overflow with sub-categories. This is the new main category will be named "OTHER". The main category currently refferd to as "SHOES" will now been renamed "FOOTWEAR".
Below you can see the new sub-categories and how they will be sorted. The categories highlighted with yellow are the new additions.

The process of recategorising the items will be done bit by bit. There is a very large and extensive archive that will take some time to go through. Taking into account that the community items are set up a bit differently than the other items, they will likely be sorted through last. Please remain patient as items are being sorted out.
We ask that the Community Designers start using the new categories where applicable. If you currently have a design in the queue that should be making use of one or more of the new categories you do not need to edit your design and resubmit it. We can help you swap the categories during the review process if there is no other issue with the design. If you know that we will likely need to move one or more of your items in the case of approval, you can type in the chat of your design and let us know the preferred price of the items in question that fits the price caps listed below. This can be done without needing to resubmit as long as you only use the chat feature and do not make any other adjustments.
Some sub-categories have special features that not all of them do.
Extra colours - hair, hair extensions, body hair, make-up, body details and body add-ons all have room for 15 colours instead of the normal 8. This is for inclusivity and diversity reasons.
Body coverage - To save your outfit you need to have properly covered your models chest and crotch. All categories that are under the clothes main category have this ability to a certain extent.
Tops can be made to cover the chest.
Skirts, pants and tights can be made to cover the crotch.
Dresses, jackets, bodysuits, underwear and swimwear can be made to cover crotch, chest or both.
Items of these types do not have to fully cover these areas in order to be placed in the respective categories. If an item in one of these categories does not provide coverage the default underwear will not be disabled and the outfit can not be saved unless you were to put on something else that does cover. What area/s a clothing piece is covering can be recognized by the underwear icons displayed under the item. (Please note that as of posting this, jackets have not yet been enabled for coverage but it will be done shortly.)
Paint behind the model - This is a setting designers can enable when uploading certain items. Enabling this setting makes it so the item fully renders behind the model much like how the items in the background category works. This new option is to avoid needing to place items such as wings and tails in the background category only for the purpose of the item going behind the model properly. The background category will now only be for actual background scenery items. The categories with this added option are body add-ons, sidekicks and other. Only items that do not have a “back image” can make use of this setting. The background option continues to have this as the default setting.
Please note that the following info relates to the items that are uploaded through the Designer tool and that the amount of recolours and pricing can differ in the standard shop.

TLDR - If you are a Community Designer we highly recomend reading the news post in full ecpecially the info in sub-category details. It contains a lot of important information that is relevant for the tool and may not be fully captured by the TLDR.
- 14 new sub-categories will be added to the shop/wardrobe.
- 1 new main category will be added named "OTHER", and the main category named "SHOES" will be renamed to "FOOTWEAR".
- Be patient as the items are being re-categorised, it may take some time. We will start with the archive and the community shop items will be worked on last.
- Community Designers do not need to edit designs that are already submitted for approval. However, if you know that an item will need to be moved you can write in the chat and let us know your prefered price based on the listed pricing caps so that we can easily move it for you if we need to.

- The jacket category will be updated to be able to provide covrage for the chest and crotch.
- The new tights category may provide the same covrage as pants and skirts.

- Items in body add-ons, sidekicks and other will have an option designers can enable to make the item render behind the model, much like the items in the background category. Items like wings and tails should no longer be added in the background category.
