Summary at the bottom
Using strong, unique passwords helps protect your personal information and keeps your accounts safer. It also reduces the risk of multiple accounts being affected if one password is ever exposed.
Why does this matter?
If you use the same password across several accounts and one of those accounts becomes compromised, someone could try that same password elsewhere, including your email, social media, or even your goSupermodel account.
Creating unique passwords for every account adds an extra layer of protection. However, remembering dozens of different passwords can be difficult. This is where password managers can help. Many browsers already have built-in password managers, but you can also choose third-party options.
Advantages of using a password manager
A password manager securely stores your passwords, allowing you to use different passwords for each account without needing to remember them all yourself.
Many password managers also include helpful security features:
Automatic password generation
Password managers can create strong and unique passwords for you instantly, making it easier to avoid reusing passwords across different services.
Autofill functionality
They can automatically fill in login details on websites, so you do not have to type them every time. This can also help protect against phishing, as passwords usually only autofill on the correct website.
Synchronisation across devices
Many password managers sync across your devices, making it easier to log in whether you are on your phone, tablet, or computer.
Breach and compromise alerts
Some password managers warn you if one of your saved passwords appears in a data breach, allowing you to update it quickly and keep your accounts secure.
Shared devices
If you share your device with other people, it is important to take extra steps to keep your accounts secure.
Saving passwords directly in your browser can be convenient, but if other people also have access to the device, it may make those passwords easier to access.
Some browsers require a code to view saved passwords. However, if that code is the same as your device unlock code, it may not provide enough additional protection. In these cases, using a third-party password manager can be a safer option, as they often include extra security features.
Data breach alerts
If you use a password manager, you may have received an alert saying that one of your passwords has been compromised. But what does this actually mean?
A compromise alert usually means that the password itself has appeared in a known data breach somewhere on the internet. It does not automatically mean that your account has been breached.
However, we still strongly recommend changing the password if you receive this warning. Although a leaked password cannot be used without knowing your associated username on goSupermodel.com, changing your password removes the risk of future unauthorised access.
Avoid easy passwords
Avoid using simple or predictable passwords, and do not use the same password for your goSupermodel account and the email connected to it.
Your email address acts as an important security measure. If you lose access to your account, you can use your email to reset your password and help recover access.
Examples of weak passwords include:
— gSm123
— Password
— 123456789
— Abcdefgh
— Cat123
— Dog123
Instead, aim for longer and more unique passwords, ideally using a mix of words, numbers, and symbols, or use a password manager to generate one for you.
In cases where a breach would have originated from us, we would notify you and Datatilsynet.
What should you do if your account has been compromised?
If you believe someone else has gained access to your account, act as quickly as possible by following these steps immediately to secure your account and data:
If you still have access to the account, change your password right away. Make sure the new password is strong and unique, and not used anywhere else.
If the password for your account was the same as your email password, or you suspect your email may also be affected, change the email password immediately. Your email is often used for password recovery, so keeping it secure is very important.
If the platform offers this option, log out of all active sessions to remove any unwanted access. - On goSupermodel, it is luckily not possible to be online on 1 account at the same time, so ensure that you were the last person logged in, using your new, secure password.
Review your account for any changes you did not make, such as profile edits, messages, trades, purchases, or other activity.
If you no longer have access to the account, contact support as soon as possible. Provide any information that may help verify ownership of the account.
Run a security or antivirus scan if you suspect malware, suspicious downloads, or that your device may have been compromised.
Enable extra security features
If available, enable features such as two-factor authentication (2FA) for added protection. goSupermodel is currently working on creating a two-factor authentication system, which should be available as soon as possible. More information about the two-factor authentication will be available when the feature is launched.
Important: Never share your password with others, even friends or people you trust. Shared passwords increase the risk of account compromise. The more people who know your password, the more risk there is. The person you shared your password with might not be the person using it during an unauthorised login. They could have shared your password with someone else, or their data could have been part of a data breach, leaving your login information exposed as well.
goSupermodel staff will never ask for your password, so there is no purpose in giving away your password to goSupermodel Staff, or someone who claims to be staff. In the few cases where authorised staff would need to access your account, we have ways to do so that would not require knowing your password, and this would be done with your knowledge.
An example of why staff would access your account could be to check if the bug you are experiencing is due to your account creating an issue, or if it is your internet or browser. In this case, you would have, in most cases, reached out to support beforehand to request assistance with resolving your problem.
How do passwords get hacked?
There are many ways passwords can become exposed or stolen. Understanding how this happens can help you better protect your accounts.
Brute-force attacks
A brute force attack happens when someone tries many password combinations until they find the correct one. Short, simple, or predictable passwords are easier to guess. Longer and more unique passwords are much harder to crack.
goSupermodel has security measures implemented to make brute-force attacks harder to perform. Entering the incorrect password several times will temporarily place a lock on the account, protecting it from unauthorised access.
Credential stuffing
Credential stuffing happens when passwords leaked from one website are tested on other websites. If you use the same password for multiple accounts and one website experiences a data breach, someone may try the same email and password combination on your other accounts, including your goSupermodel account.
This is one of the biggest reasons why reusing passwords is discouraged.
Phishing and fake links
Phishing is when someone tries to trick you into giving away personal information, login details, passwords, or other sensitive information by pretending to be someone trustworthy.
This often happens through fake websites, messages, emails, or links that look real but are designed to steal information.
Examples:
Fake login pages pretending to be goSupermodel or another website
Messages claiming you need to “verify” your account or password
Links promising free VIP, perks, items, or rewards
Messages saying your account is at risk and asking you to log in immediately
People pretending to be staff or support, asking for login information
A phishing link may look almost identical to a real website, but often has small differences in the URL, spelling, or design.
Examples:
Real website:
gosupermodel.com
Fake examples:
gosuperrnodel.com
go-supermodel-login.com
gosupermodel-freevip.com
Malware and keyloggers
Some malicious software can record what is typed on a device, including passwords.
This software can end up on devices through suspicious downloads, unsafe links, unofficial programs, or unknown files.
To reduce the risk:
— Always check the website URL before logging in
— Do not click suspicious links from unknown users
— Never enter your password on websites you do not trust
— Be careful with messages creating urgency, such as “log in now” or “your account will be removed”
— Remember that goSupermodel staff will never ask for your password
If something feels suspicious, take a moment to double-check before clicking.
If you suspect that your account might be at risk, change your login information and reach out to support. Asking others, or asking AI, cannot confirm your suspicions. Staff will be able to see if your account has had any suspicious activity.
Remember that goSupermodel’s terms and conditions and privacy policy informs that violations made on an account may result in the account and all associated accounts being removed. In cases where your access has been removed, but you realise it was due to your account being compromised, we encourage you to reach out to support and provide us with information that supports your claims. If your account does not show up in our system as being accessed unlawfully, we must process it as authorised access.
If you have any questions about privacy and security, we recommend that you reach out to support.

Short Summary:
Keeping your accounts secure starts with using strong, unique passwords for every account. Reusing passwords increases the risk that multiple accounts could be accessed if one password is exposed. Password managers can help by securely storing passwords, generating strong ones, syncing across devices, and warning about breached passwords.
If you think your account has been compromised, act quickly by changing passwords, checking account activity, scanning your device, and contacting support if needed. Never share your password with anyone, including people claiming to be staff.
