i've tested all the folders to see which ones were faulty (my game won't start) and almost all of them were to blame?????? and i have no idea how to go through every single mod without it taking hours

the sims after dark discord server has a bit that you can upload your last exception file to and it troubleshoots
just remove everything and then add each folder at once and start your game until the game won't start
i moved the mods out in chunks, and then tried to launch the sims, once it started working i slowly moved them back

that's what i did, the folders in the pic on my desktop are the faulty ones, but i have many mods inside them

ohhh sorry I thought you had subfolders inside of it

umm then I would just move them back in in chunks.
you can try the 50/50 method, this tiktok explains it: https://www.tiktok.com/@ktfromjersey/video/6816888002871086341
the 50/50 method takes super long, but it usually works in the end, and most likely you're going to be recommended to try it by the sims after dark discord server

also you can try the tray importer software specifically for clothes, i'm not sure if it works for gameplay mods, i haven't used it in a while

you can also try with the lastexception file with mccc and sims after dark discord server!

also if your UI is messed up, it's a script mod (ui cheats extension mod, more cas columns etc)
if your game won't start, it's probably a script mod and not just custom content, maybe try filtering in them? I hope you find the faulty mod, but it's gonna take time
damn that's so annoying, for me the mod that glitched a lot was one that made the item catalog bigger :(
have you repaired your game as well? one time my game didnt want to start and thats what i had to do hahaha

if not, the 50/50 method someone mentioned here would probably be the most effective to check which ones work and which doesn't. you can also delete the mod all together, look it back up on the interwebs and try downloading it "fresh"

lmaooooo i'm gonna cry, i just tried the chunks thing and the game literally won't start, what if 99% of my mods are faulty after the last update

what kind of bs is that

try repairing your game!!!!!

i havent played since idk at least one update ago because it fucked my game so badly it refused to even update it hahaha but if there's been a really recent update its not unlikely that its unplayable until its fixed hahaha
Can you start the game if you remove all your mods? (just put them on your desktop)

i wish i could say i didn't already try that i even emptied the cache and the origin cache AND restarted my computer, i'm pretty sure almost all the mods are faulty except the 3 folders in the pic cause the game will only start with them

I would do as qaz116 said and add inn chunks of mods back inn. Choose a folder and add half of it back then see if it works. If it works, then just keep going. If it doesn't, then set the chunk aside and try the next one. Then do smaller chunks of the ones that did not work. This wold take some time tho
i'd try the 50/50 method
it's slow but it works

the game works with the three folders that is in the pic, so i know the 11 folders on my desktop are faulty

are u a part of a sims 4 subreddit or something where you can ask about it?? it sounds really weird, i havent seen if you've replied to this question yet but are you able to open the game without ANY mods?? or is it still refusing to open

oop just saw above me!!! hmmm personally then i would just try to redownload all the mods from their creators all over again.... maybe they are outdated after an update
