The Asia Fashion Project Is Back!

Asia is home to some of the best fashion capitals of the world, and with The Asia Fashion Project, we plan to highlight Asian fashion on a recurring basis!

Through this project, we aim to bring you new collections celebrating fashion from various countries in Asia. Back in May, we introduced the first collection, and just having celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival, we are excited to bring you the second instalment!

Our second collection focuses on the interesting ways urban street styling incorporates traditional elements, and it is inspired by fashion from Dubai, Japan, and China.

A friendly reminder to all: When you wear any cultural attire, it is important to do so respectfully. Understand its importance and wear it with care!

Dubai: Where elegant tradition meets global glamour

Dubai is known for its extravagance, glitz and glamour, and its fashion is a testament to this. Like the innovative city built on Islamic values, the fashion scene similarly builds on modest and culturally appropriate silhouettes and mixes them with contemporary, high-end luxury pieces. The look our designer has created perfectly encapsulates this fusion between modest elegance and modern flair.

Japan: Where casual chic meets bold individuality

Tokyo's fashion scene gathers a wide range of diverse styles and mixings, and especially its street style is famous for fearlessly mixing textures, patterns and colours in creative and unexpected ways. Taking inspiration from Tokyo Fashion Week and the street styles presented there, our designer’s look focuses on the balance between the laid-back casual vibe of Japanese streetwear and the playful boldness of contrasting trends.

China: Where rich history meets modern twists

goDesigner StarShine has created the last look inspired by Shanghai’s unique fashion scene, where traditional elements are seamlessly blended into contemporary styling. The design features a sleek Chinese Tang Suit jacket and is styled with a minimalistic yet intricate two-piece set, and a trendy pop of colour in the hair and accessories, showcasing how traditional elements and modern trends and silhouettes come together beautifully.

The new outfits are in the shop until the end of Wednesday, October 2nd. Please be aware that the hairstyles and hijab will stay in the shop permanently.

With love,
