“ᴛʜɪꜱ ɪꜱ ᴡʜᴀᴛ ʏᴏᴜ ᴍɪꜱꜱᴇᴅ ʟᴀꜱᴛ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴏɴ ʀᴏᴏᴍɪᴇꜱ...”

The Roomies have finally arrived back home in Texas, and boy was it an eventful trip.

⤻ The mom and dad of the house, Rozi and Ryu, called off their engagement merely days after the proposal occurred. Ryu returned to El Paso as a single man and quickly packed his bags to go to New York in hopes of the situation dying down. He left behind his best friend and would-have-been bestman Theo to stand in for him and handle the new developments, with a new roommate having arrived and two old ones moving out.

⤻ Ryan and Victoria went through hell during their time in Fiji – Ryan leaving the trip unannounced and heading back to the States to be by his mother's side as she was hospitalized. Victoria assumed the man had left with his ëx, Camillé, and went through all the stages of post-breakup grief... Only for Ryan to return and try to make his unannounced departure right by proposing to her. Victoria declined, Ryan got ambushed by Ashton’s henchmen post-rejection. This lead to Brett and Victoria having to put their heads together to save the young Mr. Alden. It was chaotic, but at least the troubles were over – or were they? Not long after arriving home, Victoria came clean that she had cheated on Ryan on multiple occasions.

⤻ Brett and Kieran, our two “best friends”. Their trip was certainly not uneventful either. Wholesome moments coupled with progress being made in their slow-burn romance – only for Brett to be threatened by Ashton’s henchmen at gunpoint, having an acute manic episode, and then having his *cough cough* best friend flirted with by a French spy that was gathering intel and evidence against him for the court case ahead. Exhausted and happy to arrive home, Brett was surprised by his best friend(?) showing up for a surprise visit.

⤻ Valentin and Alex appeared lovey-dovey at the beginning of the trip, but this duo of a prime Aussie sigma male and an unhinged alcoholic alt-girl quickly butted heads when it came to Valentin’s sister, Victoria. Alex defended her vehemently after Ryan left (and showed up) and Valentin showed a not-so-nice side of himself to the group. Tensions remain when Valentin decided to join the roommates to the States instead of going back home to Australia. Is there anything for these two to salvage anymore? And will Valentin make an effort to reconnect with his sister after getting scolded by Jay and Alex?

⤻ Hana and Xavier – the two who found each other in Fiji. Xavier the older sibling of Alex showed up in support of his sister, Hana the older twin (it matters) showed up in support of her brother Jay. Instead, they were swept up in a confusing romance that made both of them step out of their comfort zones. Instead of joining the roommates back home in El Paso, Xavier went with Hana – taking a chance on the connection they’d found, and travelled to South Korea with the quirky art gallerist. Will they come to visit their siblings later on?

⤻ Jason and Levi – the two big tatted guys were an unexpected couple to behold. But like a firework lighting up the night sky for an ephemeral moment, their budding romance burned and fizzled out. Jay grew frustrated with Levi’s passive nature and instead of the trip bringing the two closer together as it first appeared, it drove them apart. What the trip did provide was an opportunity for the Choi sibling to bond with his roommates in a way unlike before, as he had to make up for his passive partner. Returning home a single man, Jay arrived to a new roommate he’d be sharing his room with – a young man named Yi-jun.

KIERAN had felt uncomfortable laughing at Theo’s hijacking joke, but once Hadi turned it on Ryan, he smiled to himself before changing hiz exspression back to disapproving. It was good to know that he didn’t seem to be a huge fan on him either. At least they would have something to talk about in case Brett somehow ended up being in good terms with Ryan again.

Kieran decided to stay quiet while Ryan was introducing himself, hoping that he would take Hadi’s joke as it was and not explode because of it. Being in Ryan’s presence felt like walking on eggshells, and Kieran wanted him nowhere near Brett. It was still hard for him to believe that he had once seriously suggested Brett to make himself look more guilty. Even thinking about it annoyed Kieran, so he decided to move his attention to someone he knew would make him feel better.

Kieran gave Brett a warm smile, really just hoping for someone to say something before the situation would escalate.

Brett / 21 - Hadi, 21

Hadi didn't want to be optimistic. He was pleasantly surprised to see Kieran had humor. It would make it easier to talk later. One thing was on his mind, though. He did have the intention of approving this guy. If Hadi were to expose everything he had texted about Kieran, his name was mentioned around 92 times already throughout the week - excluding their calls. Things were intense, but Brett clarified their one year long close friendship. Upon being in a serious mood, the 'close friendship' didn't bother him - though he'd forever claim otherwise.

His eyes lingered on Ryan for a bit longer, pulling his hand away and wiping his jeans discreetly while not necessarily minding the display of the petty action. Hadi took a step back to let Ryan pass, or go, whatsoever. This motherfuck had done enough, and it was the first thing he and potential in law agreed on. He gave Kieran a look of disapproval, staring the c*nt down for a second or two.

Brett grew uncomfortable with Hadi's more obvious ways of showing distaste. He was nervous Ryan would be angry. Hadi and Ryan's flames were absolutely destructive. Brett knew Hadi wasn't the type to strike the first punch if he were serious. He had convinced Hadi to be nice, and thus he would be loyal to that promise. Promises over fists, at least. The hijacker had more friendship and loyalty values than Ryan at least.

He didn't want to talk to Ryan directly. The tension between them was bad, and Brett found himself looking at Ryan's fists and felt more uncomfortable remembering Ryan's intense stare and the way his palms felt against his chest. Brett didn't mean to, but he visibly flinched upon replaying the memory. It wasn't the pain of it, but Brett was afraid of Ryan's capability to go that far. He knew Ryan wouldn't beat him up, but he almost fell on concrete because of him.

As a good timing, he peeked over at his safer roommates. Alex and Kieran, one of the aforementioned offered a reassuring smile. To which, the silhouettes of Ryan's palms could be replaced with more warmth and flutters as he mirrored Kieran's smile with a more faint one. The growing silence grew more tense, with the four of them sharing the same suspicious attitude toward Ryan, who still went through traumatic events. Brett didn't want to be overly aggressive or passively-aggressive toward him. Despite the saddening, disappointing, and unacceptable behavior from Ryan, Brett couldn't say he was better. He had also acted out due to trauma.

"Onto you guys. Alex and Kieran, thank you for the warm welcome. I'm sure Theo appreciates your efforts," Hadi had to shift into his more work-self. If kind was a trait, he would fail. However, disguising himself as being uncomfortably nice made it possible for him to actively ignore fucko ex.

Fucko ex seemingly didn't take the hint. Hadi didn't think it was possible to be more socially incapable than him. Fucko ex made the previously pleasant talk quite awkward. Hadi wasn't afraid to say it, but he would have to be nice or discreet about it.

"We've been standing here for too long, how about relocating?" Hadi suggested, continuing his passive ways of abandoning fucko ex so they could keep talking and get acquainted. Hadi nodded toward the living room where he once had sat.

Brett stared at the talkative friend all of a sudden, feeling conflicted. In one way, at least things would go smoother for everyone's comfort. On the other, Brett knew damn well what his intentions were, and he didn't want Hadi to set Ryan off.
RYAN

"Already?" Ryan thought when the new resident openly had humiliated him in front of anyone. Did someone already have time to denigrate Ryan completely, he's suspecting Kieran and Alex the most. Well, whatever. They've clearly made their mind about him already. So that's that with trying to make new friends.

A forced, hurt smile appears on Ryan's face and he claps his hands to softly catch people's attention. "It was a pleasure to meet you. See you around", he said politely and nodded his head before leaving the kitchen to upstairs. He felt like a complete outsider in this house. He just had a near death experience, his mother almost died, his proposal had been rejected and he had gotten cheated on, and no one is here on his side. He's contemplating whether he has missed something or if he's really just surrounded by ignorant, judgemental people. He felt alone and couldn't even feel like there was no one to ask for help, not even Victoria or Brett. He would certainly feel bothered being comforted by Victoria, since she is the main reason of his state, and Brett just seems to not care at all.

Ryan enters his room and tumbles on the bed. He wanted to cry, smash things but for the first time in forever, his emptiness prevented him from doing either of those. He didn't have energy to even force a tear out. Even though he hasn't been really able to talk about his emotions out loud, he has still felt something and was capable of releasing his emotions, even if it was by smashing things or crying with a whiskey bottle in a tree.

He couldn't get his mind off of Victoria and what she had done. He has tried so hard to prove his love to her after her suspecting that there was something between him and Alex, and she betrays him like this. The fact how easily she gave up on them still confuses the shít out of Ryan. Guess she was the broken one with trust issues after all.

While speculating the cause for the cheating, he texts with his mom to make sure she's okay. She will be leaving the hospital in a week or so, and invited Ryan to stay over for a few nights at their summer house a few hours away. She insisted to have some time just with her family after such an arresting experience. He of course agreed and since they will be going straight to the summer house from the hospital, Ryan would need to take a bus, which he didn't really mind. He was too grateful for his mama to have survived to complain about a form of transportation. Believe it or not, Ryan isn't that superficial. There are greater things that matter to him.

Brett / 21 & Hadi/ 21

Hadi was guiltlessly satisfied with fucko ex leaving, looking like a deranged puppy in a tyrannous wolf's egsterior. He enjoyed the way fucko dejectedly walked off without giving Brett one look, as he shouldn't. If he tried to sugarcoat his way into Brett's friendship, Hadi would deal with it hands-on. For now, he openly allowed his scowl to fade whilst letting his disgusting presence disappear.

The messed up jumbled group seemed to agree with his suggestion. It was a solution to get rid of the fucko, but Hadi was getting tired of standing. He and Alex were early on the drinking hours, which were more comfortable in their living room. Hadi must say, their villa was impressive. He wasn't completely culturally shocked. Brett's house had the same vibe, a bit more excessively extravagant in terms of architecture and details. Though, it didn't mean Hadi didn't experience petty distaste toward the richie villa.

As for Brett, he was surprised by Ryan's civil tone. He caught himself sighing in relief, exposing his low standards for x-friend. Ryan's walk was uncharacteristically slow, rather, solemn. He didn't look threatening as Brett's heart had made it. Of course, Brett's body involuntarily reacted to swift movements made by him. He stupidly watched the others slowly walk toward the living room, with different yet same hatred toward Ryan - except Ryu's friend who probably didn't know what the hell just happened.

He felt somewhat guilt. Brett deep, deep inside knew very well it wasn't his job to fix the ones who didn't want it. However, Ryan had gone through a kidnapping. It was traumatic enough. Brett would never, ever justify what he did to Victoria. He was on Victoria's side in a heartbeat. The kidnapping, on the other hand, left him standing still while looking toward the stairs. He furrowed his eyebrows in thought, fighting between whether he should act from his head or heart.

Brett quietly walked over to the cabinets to find multiple snacks from before their Fiji trip. A few bags of chips would do. First, his heart raced on his way toward Ryan's room. He didn't want to talk to him, of course. Brett was too nervous after hearing him break something in his room prior to Fiji. He didn't know whether to knock on Ryan's door, or force it open and give it to him. Brett wasn't ready to face Ryan or his hands, especially. He cursed himself mentally for feeling unnecessarily guilty. It was becoming frustrating how he couldn't resist the urge to do something at least.

He decided to creak the door open by a minimum. Enough for his arm to slide in and drop a bag of chips on the floor. Brett found it embarrassing how he didn't stand for his actions, and walked away before Ryan could identify him. The gesture was small, yet, hoped it was enough of a sign.

As Hadi would have hoped, Brett returned quickly down the stairs with the rest of their snacks. As a polite host, he gathered a bowl to offer anyone good things to snack - while also making himself less suspicious for tending to Ryan in his own, rather passive way. He equally as made his way to the couches where they were sitting, leaving the snacks for grabs with the bowls accompanying it.

Brett wasn't sure what to say for once, as all four of them were possibly thinking of the same person. Hadi gave him a questioning look, while Brett gave him the look Hadi considered 'golden retriever'. Hadi wanted to text his best friend and ask what he was doing upstairs. It was hilarious how Brett thought it was discreet to follow fucko ex. Embarrassing.
It was clear Hadi was just as disapproving of Ryan as KIERAN and Alex were - there was no doubt of it, considering the somewhat hostile comment and looks the three of them gave to each other when Ryan was in their presence. Still, he couldn’t help but feel a little bad when he clapped his hands as a sign of defeat and walked away. After all, he had gone through traumatic things during their trip. Still, he had been an awful friend to Brett before any of that. Despite all of that, he still felt like he was ganging up on someone like they were still in high school. Kieran tried to remind himself that Ryan had brought the disapproving looks on himself.

Kieran nodded at Hadi’s suggestion to relocate to the living room and ended up following everyone there before sitting on the couch. However, Brett didn’t stay in the room with them for long before he seemed to follow Ryan upstairs. Kieran gave the people around him a confused look. Thankfully Brett hadn’t stayed upstairs to pet Ryan’s hair and tell him everything would be alright but instead returned quickly. Kieran gave Brett that same questioning look that he had given the others in the room, but secretly he admired the way he was able to feel compassion and see good in everyone, even Ryan. That trait might end up being his downfall, because he clearly didn’t know who was deserving of that compassion, but it was still an admirable trait.

Brett / 21 - Hadi / 21

Brett thought he was safe and sound once he sat down the first available spot he saw. Between his roommates. He didn't know whether the Ryan hate was dying down, but Hadi seemed to chill after glaring at him for a second. Even if that were the case, Brett didn't know how to get the dialogue to recover from that. Everyone was relatively more passive than he and Ryu's friend whom he didn't know. Brett didn't find the words to randomly switch the topic.

He looked toward the others, guiltily taking a few more seconds to admire Kieran in times where he was very stressed and anxious. It was more comforting thinking about his hands rather than Ryan's aggressive ones. He trusted Kieran's hands so much, he couldn't wait to finally receive a hug after today had passed by. As his sugary thoughts soothed him a little, Brett caught Kieran's suspecting glance. He was nearly offended, as, come on, he was being nice. He wanted to defend himself by saying he only left a snack for Ryan to eat, rather than do anything productive.

Hadi could see completely average things about his in-law. However, he did observe their dynamic even if they didn't talk. It was natural for Hadi to bash Brett for being a rug carpet. However, Kieran's biggest green flag was also recognizing the same bullshit behavior as he did. Brett needed a person with brains. While Hadi was afraid Kieran would be just as puppy and dumb as Brett was, Hadi was relieved to see that Brett was surrounded by rational people.

He didn't know if it was his desperate nature to allow Brett to get d*cked down already, but Kieran did give him proper signs. Hadi wasn't convinced, naturally. He needed more one-on-one, and also be a third-party when they'd spend time together. Hadi didn't believe Kieran was the problem. He was objectively showing being capable of being a good friend, and a rational dude. On the other hand, it was Kiran the inept relationship guy. Kieran was fine on his own, but in a relationship? They'd see about that.
VICTORIA

The words I love you just echoed in Victoria's head until Ryan decided to leave to eat.
"See you later", she mumbled as she followed him rushing out of her and Alex' room. Victoria still felt conflicted over the conversation she had with Ryan. They were talking but the talk felt as something unresolved, rushed, pretended or perhaps even not fully genuine. It hurt and Huxley could not help it but feel empty. She tried to keep it together, to fight for their relationship but for now the fight felt extra heavy than usual as she could feel Ryan getting more distance from her.

As soon as Ryan was gone from her room, she fell down to her bed again, face facing the pillow. Victoria felt like she was drowning in her relationship with Ryan. The weight of their problems was suffocating her, leaving her feeling helpless and alone stranded to the shore. The worst part was, that Victoria wasn't comfortable to talk her feelings out to almost anyone as she needed someone neutral who wouldn't scream or shout that Ryan wasn't shit. The most neutral person to have around her right now was Valentin. The younger Huxley was sure he would at least somehow support or at least listen to her without pouring ton of shit on Ryan right away. Besides, the older Huxley was offering to talk if needed as he had noticed that she was clearly off because of the whole situation.

Victoria grabbed her phone and went through her contacts to text Valentin.
"أنا بحاجة إليك"

VALENTIN

Valentin was in his guest room taking care of some business arrangements through his emails and phone calls. Currently he was on the phone with Allan Elliot Murphy, the ex fiancé of Victoria. He was not only his little sister's éx fiancé but also a good friend and business partner of his. They were discussing about the construction plan of sports car centre in San Diego that Valentin has worked hard towards to so it could truly happen. As the business talk was going on, a notification appeared on Huxley's notification centre. A text message came from Victoria, who has actually sent him a message in Arabic, which was rare. She just texted him that she needed him. Valentin would be lying if his heart wasn't fluttering.

"Alright Al, I must go, sister is calling"

"Say hi from me to the little princess", Valentin let out a light chuckle after Allan's words. He wish he could say hi from his behalf but Victoria couldn't even stand to hear man's name.

"I'll see you in Queensland"

Valentin ended the call and stretched out his arms. Victoria must feel genuinely shitty if she is asking some comfort from him. Maybe he truly had to try to be a good brother for once. Huxley got up from his chair and finally left his room. He took a few steps towards the kitchen to see people to start gathering around in the living room. There were also two new faces he had never seen before. He went closer to the living room be polite and introduce himself to the new faces.
"Hello, my name is Valentin, pleasure to meet you", Huxley introduced himself while giving firm handshakes to Hadi and Theo.
"Hopefully you are settling in nicely. I'll have to excuse myself as I'm going to stop by my sister’s room. She will come down to say hi as soon as possible”, Valentin turned back to kitchen and before going there, he glanced at Alex and gave her a faint smile. He wasn’t proud at all to make her feel unappreciated and as soon as he will be done talking to Victoria, he will focus on making things right with her.

Valentin quickly stopped by the kitchen to make some tabbouleh so his sister could eat at least something. It was a quick prepare, the salad was made from fresh parsley and mint, a handful of bulgur, finely chopped tomatoes and onions. The salad was finished with a drizzle of lemon juice and olive oil. Huxley made a lot of that salad so others could have it as well. He grabbed a plate and put some salad to it before heading upstairs to his sister’s room.

HUXLEYS

Valentin gently knocked on the door before opening it.
“How are you holding up?”, he started the conversation while putting the plate of salad to Victoria’s nightstand. Victoria was a trainwreck, literally freaking out about the events that recently happened. She was crying her eyes out, not knowing how to form her sentences as she couldn’t even breath properly. Valentin pressed his lips together to a thin line as he approached her to pull her into a hug. He stroked her light hair and let her cry while being in silence himself.
“Talk to me when you are ready, ‘ukht”

They stood in the middle of a room, hugging each other. Honestly, Valentin did not know how to make his sister to feel better, he rarely was comforting her when she was upset. After a while, Victoria was able to slightly come down and start to open up about the whole Fiji trip, how lost she was when Ryan left, how ‘bad bítch’ she was while fooling around with different kind of guys during the week just to get temporary relief for her aching heart, the amount of cigarettes she smoked, w3ed and alcohol she consumed so she could get her thoughts elsewhere, her anxiety eating up alive and feeling of not being enough. Victoria went through all of that just for Ryan to return back and propose, accusing her later on cheating and putting all the blame on her.

Victoria was éxplaining everything in Arabic as for now it felt the most natural way to speak with Valentin. She wasn’t that fluent, so English words were still used there and here. Younger Huxley explained that apparently Ryan was gone for his personal reasons, which she did not open more to Valentin as she felt that it might be too personal information to share on his behalf. She told how devastated she was to turn Ryan down in front of everyone. She felt pressured as no one should know better by now than Ryan that such gestures scare the shit out of her, especially if they are so sudden and hurried. And how guilty yet confused Victoria was that suddenly, she was a cheater when in normal conditions she could never do that to the person she loves.

Victoria told about the kidnapping, about the whole operation to get Ryan back safe and sound with Brett and Kieran. How scared she was for Aldon’s life. Her opening up was finished with the talk she had with Ryan about what happened, how close yet distanced she was from him and how it felt like many things were left unsaid. Or perhaps there was nothing to say and they had this weird and rushed talk that actually felt like pretended one, as if Victoria was now all alone in this to work and resolve this unfortunate outcome of the events.

“I’m afraid of losing him”

While Victoria was bleeding her heart out to her brother, Huxleys did not even notice how at one point they just sat down at the floor. Valentin was invested in his sister worries, and he genuinely felt bad on her behalf now that he knew what she was truly feeling. There was a lot of information and feelings to process, and older Huxley had to take a moment before saying anything. Honestly, he was surprised that after rejection Victoria and Ryan were still trying to work it out, kind of.

“Ryan is clearly traumatized as a lot of shit happened to him. He needs time and so do you. This all happened recently, so no wonder the things are not going so great as you wished. You’ve put a lot of effort to make things to work out just in the name of love, but V please remember that you are not his mother and he is not 5 anymore. I didn’t get to see you that much together but what I have saw so far is only you running after him when the things do not go the way the boy wanted. The boy has zero social skills, and it is not your job to teach him how to communicate, it was his parents job to do so. Love is not always enough, there is a lot of things that should be considered as well.

It is okay to push the person to the right direction and help him to heal or fix himself. But there is a thin line when you try to fix someone so badly that you are breaking yourself. What comes to ‘cheating’, sister, he should have known better what kind of impression he left of himself when he took off to take care of whatever personal issues at the same time with his éx and not returning any calls or texts. According to his past fuck ups with you, he should have known that you had strong valid reason to think that he got back with Camillé and took off. If he knows you that well, he should have known that you wouldn't do such a thing to him under the normal circumstances. He must know that he is lucky enough that you are so good-hearted person who puts up with that kind of bullsh. But V, let’s be honest, at this point, he will take advantage of that sooner or later. Unless he is not doing it already. And only you here are allowing him to make you feel this way you are feeling right now. You should not be alone to handle this situation because it takes two to make the relationship to work.”

Valentin was speaking calmly, not noticing how he switched back to English, as he was holding his sister hand and looking straight to her eyes. He wasn’t the one to give any relationship advice, but he had to give a piece of his mind to Victoria. His intentions were not to push younger Huxley to call it quits with Ryan, he just gave few things to keep in her mind.

“Fight for him if you love him but it is not worth it to break yourself over him. He needs professionals help. You are a Huxley, you should know your worth, your boundaries and when enough is enough. But for now, let the dust to settle down and take then an overall look on how the situation is looking. Everything will turn out one way or another and I do really hope you know what’s the best for you”, Valentin finished and wiped some of the tears from Victoria’s cheeks.

“No matter what the outcome is, everyone here loves you”

“Now, whenever you are ready, join us downstairs, there are some new roommates”

Brett / 21 - Hadi / 21

Brett unwinded amidst the individually uncomfortable silence. As long as they were in a group, he would try to avert any attention toward someone else. Kieran's discreet stare toward him intended to feel more apprehensive. Once it had dissipated, Brett was left with thinking more about it. Kieran's soft features were something else. Brett was accustomed to seeing his tokens of positivity, warmth, and comfort. This time, he received somewhat of a more reflecting some of his sterner side. Even though the circumstances made Kieran look at him that in that manner, Brett definitely unlocked another type of attraction toward the older. From the very second the context turned irrelevant, Brett thought of other contexts he would want to receive that little glare of disapproval. Some genres of frustration were nothing but intrusive with his intrusive thoughts acting as proof.

Brett had never been happier to see Valentin interrupt his thought process. He did nothing but give a polite smile to upkeep their civility. Valentin showed his better side of being both approachable and welcoming of the new guests, and fucks sake, Brett was hoping Hadi would behave. He had made amends with the Australian just under a week ago. His Phoenix buddy couldn't fuck it up. He was relieved that Hadi just introduced himself with his forename without adding anything more to it.

Hadi was more conflicted in what to do with sigma brother. He wanted to scowl in disgust, but for other reasons. The man looked like he committed tax fraud while promoting his Dubai business of exploiting every worker in the middle east. He shook his hand without much thought other than judging his appearance. Hadi wasn't as much of a c*nt to sigma brother. Sigma brother had made an effort to talk to Brett about shit, although he found it funny how he had been told to off himself by Brett. Hadi wished someone had taped it, so they could watch it on TV right now.

Both of them were surprised to hear him go off to his sister. Brett picked up that she was in dire need, if she chose Valentin over him or Alex. Pumpkin and Bunny were inseparable. It wasn't to say he felt betrayed whatsoever. Brett knew it within himself that he would ask her later, and be open to talk to Victoria about her well-being. He could never hold himself back from interfering and letting her know that Brett would always, always be there whether she needed Midnight Mcdonald's or a Trauma Twin to cry along with.

Hadi felt bad for her. He would have broken down a door if he were told to make money to cry less. At least, they were back to being the original group of roommates and newbies.

"How about truth, dare or drink, people? Seems that Alex and I are vibing with it already," Hadi pointed out and nodded toward her drink she had gathered. Was he interested in getting to know them? Eh, not for individual reasons. More so, that he had an excuse to grill Kieran in a subtle, kind, civil way. More to ask Kieran things revolving around his 'best friend', or perhaps what type of guy he was in conflicts, and such. This was a warm-up for the one-on-one talk after all.
RYAN

Ryan lays on his bed watching YouTube videos. He needed to turn off his brain for a little bit, not that there was anything else than a monkey toy with cymbals inside his skull anyways. He startled as the door of his room creaks and a bag of chips is dropped on the floor by an unknown roomie. Ryan raises his other eyebrow confusedly. He wasn't really craving for snacks at the moment so he just turns his gaze back to the video he was watching, thinking about who might've been behind his door. He's assuming it's either Bre or Vicky, or if it was someone else, they must've added cyanide to the content of the bag.

Scrolling on his phone starts to bore him. He can hear others laughing and socializing downstairs, and as much as he would like to join, he most probably would not be welcomed by others. He's still confused of how the new guy seemingly already had such a strong, negative opinion on him which only causes the feeling of betrayal to continue growing.

"How to get over cheating", he types on the search bar and his heart jumps into his throat as he just realises admitting to himself how hurt he is. He didn't want to be hurt, since it would potentially prove fatal for them.

After a deep breath he decides to go for a run instead of wallowing in sorrow. He changes himself into his workout clothes and pushes the bag of chips from the doorway with his feet. The instructions from the hospital of Fiji was not to engage in any heavy sports in a while. However, he was so desperate in feeling something that he was willing to take the risk, whatever it was. He rushes past the people in the livingroom straight to he hallway and ties the laces of his running shoes. He exits the villa, inhaling the fresh air into his lungs. He takes a few running steps in place and begins his alone therapy session.

He ran as fast as he can. The more exhausted he was getting, the better he felt - just what he was craving. Ryan continued to run until he reached the beach. The sand was cool under his feet and the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore was calming. He slowed down to a jog, taking in the beautiful scenery. The sun was setting, painting the sky with hues of orange, pink, and purple. For a moment, Ryan forgot all his worries and just enjoyed the moment. But then, his thoughts started to creep back in. He couldn't keep running away from his problems forever.

Ryan sat down on the sand, breathing heavily from his run. He closed his eyes and took deep breaths, trying to calm his racing mind. A memory of him and Victoria sitting on the beach and looking at the stars floods his mind. They were so happy and in love then, with nothing but each other and the beauty of the night sky to keep them company. He feels a pang of sadness in his chest, remembering how things used to be and how they are now. But he quickly shakes the feeling off and takes a deep breath, determined to focus on moving forward and healing from the pain.

As Ryan sat on the sand, trying to clear his head, he notices a woman in the distance. She was jumping into the water from the pier, her hair wet and clinging to her face as she emerged from the water. He notices how gracefully she moves through the water, her body gliding effortlessly. He thinks to himself that she must be a good swimmer. He can't help but feel a twinge of jealousy towards the woman. She looks so carefree and happy, unburdened by the weight of heartbreak and betrayal.

Ryan gets up from the sand and starts walking along the shore. As he walks, he notices other women enjoying the beach as well. Some are playing volleyball, some are sunbathing, and some are swimming in the ocean. He realizes that he's been so consumed by his own pain that he's forgotten how beautiful and vibrant the world around him can be.

He makes a mental note to try and enjoy life more, to appreciate the little things and find happiness in moments like these. He also reminds himself to take things slow. For now, he just wants to focus on healing and moving forward, one step at a time.

Brett / 21

Brett's mimic dropped at the suggestion of another drinking game. He naturally flitted his attention to Kieran, though he didn't want to make it obvious. His abdomen dropped on the olders' behalf. It was a sore topic Hadi wasn't aware of that they hadn't gotten the chance to talk about. Brett was staying sober, no doubt about that. He also didn't want Kieran to overstay. Their history of leaving early was tragically funny, but this case wasn't. He looked back at Hadi with an unreadable expression. What was he supposed to do? Blame Hadi? Perhaps he did, a little, since it wasn't the time of day to drink.

He had the choice between being overly sympathetic, or make light of the situation. Brett remembered their past truth or dare games. While they weren't very glamorous, they led to something. Their chaotic story did begun by just that. He could dabble into a small throwback over his and Alex's *** battle, his and Freya's kiss, Kieran drinking salt mocktail, 'then why are you so sad' whatnot. Before he had the chance to, Brett turned around to be exposed to Ryan rushing out. He didn't get the time to even flinch by the time Ryan had reached the exit already.

Something tied itself into Brett's abdomen. Knowing Ryan, he was a rash brute. During his intense emotions, after being grilled, Brett was worried he would get himself into bad shit. He didn't mean drinking out in public. He was worried Ryan would end up in a fight, start bullshit, seek a thrill or anything outright dangerous. Brett hated himself for thinking this way, but he couldn't turn it off. He knew what Ryan had gone through. It just. made. sense to assume that Ryan's nature would lead him into an ordeal. None of the roommates had the capacity to deal with more chaos that Ryan attracted so well. He admittedly, guiltily didn't want Ryan to end up more damaged than he already was.

He was fully prepared to get another stare from Kieran, that was quite attractive outside it being disapproving. Brett couldn't shake off the other, more unholy context he could see it in. Intrusive thoughts fully whispered in the back while Brett opened up his phone to just casually check whether Ryan's snapmap was open, just in case.

"Don't do anything rash" Brett texted him on Snapchat out of nothing but pity, while also doing it for his roommates. It would be a good thing if he were offline, or Ryan could read it once he had wifi. He could take it as a token of caring by distance. He wasn't ready nor willing to sit down and talk to Ryan about everything. However, he had room for doing the smallest things for the broken roommate. Kieran would slaughter him for it, but he couldn't be blamed for just wanting Ryan not to cause havoc.
RYAN

For a minute he thought about leaving this place. He has always dreamt of traveling the world and just being free. Maybe he could leave with Victoria. She doesn't seem the type to just leave her life behind, she's way too dependant on others. Ryan contemplates whether Victoria would do that for him. Realistically she would rather listen to others' opinions and make them her own. After all, she's deeply not really a person who makes a lot of decisions for herself.

Ryan feels his phone buzz in his pocket. Brett. Ryan frowns and decides to check what he sent despite the thought of the message just being some sort of bullying about his situation. He was right. When did Brett become like this? Ryan leaves him on read and puts his phone back to his pocket.

Ryan walks back towards the villa, feeling a mix of emotions. He was glad he went for the jog and got some fresh air, but at the same time, the thoughts about Victoria and Brett were still nagging at him. As he enters the living room, he sees everyone gathered around in a circle, playing a drinking game. Without even looking at their direction, he can already feel their experessions changing. He knows he's not welcome there, but he doesn't want to seclude himself in his room just yet.

He goes to the kitchen and starts rummaging through the fridge, pretending to be looking for a drink. In reality, he just wants to avoid the uncomfortable situation in the living room. He pulls out a bottle of water and hydrates himself after the heavy sport performance. Luckily his organs didn't fail him while he didn't follow the hospital's instructions. He's not really a person to follow the rules and it can also be seen in other areas of his life.

As he leans against the kitchen counter, Ryan's mind wanders again. He can't help but think about the woman he saw earlier at the beach. She seemed so carefree and confident, jumping off the pier into the crystal clear water. Ryan shakes his head, trying to push the thought out of his mind. He should be focusing on fixing things with Victoria rather than running away from his problems as always.

Ryan starts to look around the kitchen for something to do. He sees a recipe book on the counter and decides to flip through it just for fun. He's never been much of a cook, but maybe it's time to start learning. He flips to a page with a simple pasta recipe and decides to give it a try. He starts to gather the ingredients and starts to prepare the meal, losing himself in the process.

As he stirs the pasta, he feels a sense of accomplishment. It's not much, but it's a start. Maybe if he can learn to take care of himself, he won't feel so dependent on others. Ryan takes a deep breath and smiles to himself, feeling a glimmer of hope.

HUXLEYS

Victoria was quite surprised about her brother’s speech as she did not wait such support from him. She appreciated Valentin to rant a little but at the same time he did not want to encourage her to do anything but just take time and see how things goes. Victoria should know what’s the best for her but honestly she had no idea about that as she usually tends to put other’s wellbeing first instead. But Valentin was right, there was no need to go full on panic yet as all of these events just happened and the dust did not settle down yet. Younger Huxley had to give it time and be here for Ryan and try to fix the damage. She had no clue how to fix things but hopefully she will figure it out somehow.

”Thank you, ’akh”

Valentin ruffled slightly Victoria’s hair before he stood up and went outside of the room to give his sister time to get herself together. He was patiently standing in the hallway and leaning against the wall. Older Huxley was here to be his little’s sister emotional support for once.

Victoria sat on the floor for five more minutes and focused on simply on breathing. Then she stood up and walked up to the closet to grab a white shirt with a grey skirt and changed into them from her comfy clothes. After, she put her makeup on quickly and did her hair to look more presentable. At least she can look somehow put together even though she is a fucking mess inside.

Victoria could feel how her shoulders were all tense again and her thoughts went unintentionally back to the moment when Alessandro was massaging her back and shoulders. Those large and sëxy hands of his did her good back then. Huxley quickly brushed off these thoughts as she realised thinking about Alessandro. The Italian stallion wasn’t here to provide such relief and she should try to move on from all things that happen in Fiji and focus to get life back to normal routines and fixing things with Ryan.

Since the first option was off limits, there must be other way to make herself more relaxed as facing new roommates was nervous under this state of mind. Victoria looked herself through the mirror and remembered that she still had few gummybears left from the Fiji. She would feel their effect earliest in two hours but it was better than nothing. Huxley had to think for a moment if she really wanted to count on some substances but the temptation was way too big. Thus, she grabbed her purse to grab one pill and put it in her mouth.

Younger Huxley was now ready to head out of her room and join others downstairs with her brother. On the way to the living room Huxleys ëxchanged few words in Arabic as Valentin explained that there were guys named Theo and Hadi and he had no idea what they were doing here and for long they would be staying. Victoria only nodded and stated that however it was, they should feel welcomed and perhaps they could play some drinking games to get to know them better, even though there was a risk that games would turn chaotic like every previous time.

”Hii guys, welcome to our household! My name is Victoria, it’s nice to meet you”, Victoria introduced herself with a wide smile on her face when she walked to the living room with Valentin. She noted that most of the roomies were gathered expect Ryu, Rozi, Levi and Jay. And Ryan was in visible distance doing some food in the kitchen. She smiled to herself as it was rare sight of him doing some proper food in the kitchen.
”Rest of us will join in later, right?”

//v’s look->
- ALEX -

Alex just smiled to Hadi who thanked for the welcoming, it was nice to have fresh faces on the house, even though sometimes the fresh faces where present only for couple of days. "I think relocating to the living room sounds nice. We have stood here enough." Alex said and took a sip of her drink. Before she could really move Ryan left the chat and left upstairs. She looked a split seconds after him before seeing Valentin walking up and introducing himself to Theo and Hadi.

Valentin gave Alex a faint half smile, which made Alex smile back to him with an slight awkward smile of confusion and just trying to be polite. They hadn't really talked at all after the masquerade night, and the tension between them was a bit off. But if she was able to fix the tension between her and Brett, she was sure that she could do that with Valentin also.

Alex followed Valentin also exiting to upstairs, to be with his sister. It was nice to know that those two were able to have a chat and relay on each others even though their relationship seemed really fucked up to Alex sometimes. But Victoria must need some practical opinions, and to that Valentin was a really good option.
Alex turned her head back to the group as Hadi spoke, his idea of an drinking game was just the thing that Alex needed right now. "Drinking game sounds great. I can take a truth from the start, for me." She said with a smile while she noticed that Ryan got back from outside and walked straight to the kitchen.

Alex started to move to the living room with Theo while the Huxley siblings came downstairs with a couple minutes after each others. Alex smiled to Victoria who introduced herself to the new faces. Her question about the rest of us made Alex's face twist a little. "Well...." She said while stretching the word. "Rozi is moving out." She said to her bluntly, not sugar coating it at all. "And Ryu is in NYC." She said while looking at Victoria

Brett / 21 - Hadi / 21

Brett had felt a slight secondary hurdle ever since Ryan left to go out. It was a miracle to see him return unharmed and quite uncharacteristically go to the kitchen. He detached his attention toward Ryan and rather focused on the circle. Alex eventually agreeing to the drinking game wasn't a shock at all, but he admired her for having fun. Then again, if her habits aligned with Hadi's, Brett would watch out for that.

As for Hadi, he was pleased with the agreement. Despite only two feeling up for it, Hadi wasn't particularly the biggest fan of democracy. The rest of the group could just follow his and Alex's vibe as they should. He was about to shoot out a truth, dare or drink to someone random before he realized he would have to think of some first. Luckily, sigma brother and Victoria appeared to his view.

Though it wasn't his first time seeing Victoria, the brown-girl showed the majestic beauty of what middle east had to offer. Mashallah to that, and her. Of course, he only acknowledged it passively without commenting it like a creep. He could say the cracker was missing out. Hadi could practically smell the flavorless food the American was boiling. What? Hot water, salt, diabetic potatoes in a pot?

He raised his eyebrows at the faint, although, audible Arabic. The lowest volume of it was enough to hype him up. The brown siblings knew their language! One thing was being brown, another was actually having a taste of their own culture. Hadi was stupidly amped up to find out they did know something. Although, the sigma brother could shove Burj Khalifa up his a**

"T'ala, jalla," Hadi gave each of them a nod, not able to hide his smirk at the language. Of course he didn't know Arabic fluently. Hadi only knew a few words. Good, more people for truth, dare, or drink.

Brett wanted to cringe, but he was happy Hadi could connect with someone over something. Anything cringeworthy was better than punchworthy.

"Bunnyy," Brett greeted by drawing it out almost involuntarily. He would be nervous to talk to her if it weren't for the fact that he had a sixth sense telling him she needed someone. He looked between Victoria and Alex, who were talking about the other roommates. Other than Brett's overthinking, he did have a weird sense of being few. Jay was missing, Levi was missing, Rozi was missing, Ryu was missing, etc.

Brett tilted his head in confusion at the newfound information? He looked between the roommates to his left and right, as if they knew about this. The lack of shock did show that they in fact knew about Rozi's departure and Ryu's sudden trip to New York. Brett's shock was evident by his widened eyes, slightly dropped jaw, and most flickering gaze as if his braincells were working hard to draw a connection between rational explanation.

"Bro you should've been there. Single dad guy dodged a bullet when prickly rose blew up the engagement with a single tantrum," Hadi looked at Brett's loading expression and nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders. It was a condensed version after all. It was supposed to help Brett's shock, but Brett exclaimed a higher-pitched 'what the fuck'.

Brett was the first kid of the couple. He was the one that caught them kissing and dragged Abigail and Ki to see it too. Jesus, Brett felt so bad for Ryu. Rozi throwing a tantrum? Brett was so confused, and hoped the best for Ryu. Levi and Jay? He wanted to ask about them, but decided that Hadi should start the weird *** drinking game before the topic turned sour or depressing.

"So, now that everyone's on the same boat, we can start," Hadi apathetically changed the topic to the drinking game again. He and Alex just wanted to drink, man.

"For starters, Alex, my only drinking buddy, truth or dare?" Hadi asked her in a chill tone, no longer seeing as much red in her. Emo girl was approved. Seemed like the two only drinkers would get drunk first anyway, at least they could possibly drunkenly vibe.

Alex picked truth, which was predictable. Luckily for Alex, Hadi wasn't the one to give out the most mayonnaise truths.

"Could you imagine yourself romantically with any of your roommates?" Hadi asked quicker than intended, practically giving away that he had thought about this beforehand.

VICTORIA

”What?”, Victoria’s eyes widened in shock as if she didn’t hear it properly. She heard it all crystal clear. Rozi called off the engagement? And the way Hadi was casually explaining the situation as if he was there. Wow. The last thing in the world that Victoria could’ve guessed to happen was famous Ryuzi couple to break up. They seemed to be an end game but how the tables turned. Rozi throwing a tantrum? That’s quite something to process, honestly. Dad and mom of the house were gone now and only single parent dad will come back at some point. Victoria needed more details. And Levi and Jay? Gosh, she was afraid to even ask. Would it be appropriate to dig into someone’s relationship and gossip about it with quite big group of people? Huxley would love that but the situation right now is not quite fitting as there are literally two new people inside of the house. Perhaps she will ask for more details later from someone privately. And she did not want to ruin the mood as her roomies were about to play the game.

Victoria grinned back at Hadi who seemed to hear her talking with Valentin in their language. She was happy there was someone from middle east as well.
“Pumpkin”, Huxley smiled warmly at Brett and gave him a half hug. She did not want for Evers to worry about her, at least for tonight. In addition, Brett had a lot of shit going on in his life as well that he has to take care of.

Hadi was on full in game mood as he striked with a truth to Alex. The question was tough and Victoria could notice Valentin to get tensed up a little. Her gaze shifted to the kitchen as Ryan has cooked himself a meal. She could feel herself being proud of him, that was a start indeed. But it bothered her that he was there all by himself, alone. He would usually join the group but clearly something happened already while she was upstairs.
“I hope you didn’t get to mock Ryan publicly already or something because then I’ll have to rip your heads off”, Victoria stated to Brett with more lower voice so not everyone could possibly hear that. Ryan did not deserve all the hate as he went through some heavy stuff that people even doesn’t know about.

Victoria started to walk to the kitchen to get Ryan. She approached him carefully, as if she was walking on a thin ice.
“Hi love, would you like to join us for the truth or dare game?”, she put her hand on Ryan’s shoulder while giving him an encouraging smile.
RYAN

Ryan finishes off with the cooking and puts the pasta on a plate the same way it looks in the picture in the cook book, kinda. He lets out a little laugh at his masterpiece and the plate is empty in just a few minutes. He fills the dishwasher and cleans up after the others' dishes too. He's not usually the person to clean up the house that much but now that he's on a mood for change, maybe this is just the right time to improve himself in this area too.

While he's washing up the pan he had used for cooking, his princess arrives the kitchen. "Hi babes", he says to her with a little smile on his face. "You look beautiful today. As always", he compliments her before she suggests him joining the drinking game. "I don't know V. I feel like I'm not really wanted there", he says to her quietly, trying not to attract the group's attention.

It felt nice that Victoria seemed to be on his side. His masculine side did however take a small hit when she confronted the others about mocking Ryan. But he couldn't feel anything but grateful for her making an effort.

After a small contemplation, he looks at Victoria and gives her a kiss on her forehead. "Fuck it. Let's go", he states and walks towards the group with a waterbottle in his hand, holding Victoria's hand while dragging her to the livingroom with him. He sits on a bean bag and pulls Victoria on his lap, He takes a minute to just catch up on the game and sits quietly while hugging Victoria from behind.

Hadi explaining the Rozi-Ryu situation to Brett using these weird nicknames and being so direct about the situation made Alex almost chuckle, he did not hold back on his thoughts and opinions. And his way to shift the conversation out of the tea was also funny, he wasn't here to waste any time on old news.

As Alex sat down to the living room couch she listened Hadi's truth which almost made her choke up to her drink. He really pulled out the big guns right on the spot without knowing nothing about their past relationships between everyone. The question was way more awkward that Alex had assumed, and she was almost scared to look up on Valentin to see his reaction.

"Um.." She started as she tried not to make eye contact with almost anyone, just kept her eyes on Hadi's direction. She didn't want to say yes and seem like she would be an hundred percent sure on anything and she didn't want to say no and seem that she had zero interest on anyone. "Maybe, if people got their sh*t together, including my own." She said and looked at Hadi.

Alex took a courage sip of her drink even when she had answered the question, but she felt like that she needed to quiet down the voices inside her head before continuing to choosing her victim. She lifted her chin slightly so the stream of liquid would go down quicker and her buzz would come faster.
As she was chugging her can she noticed Ryan joining the group with Victoria. Them sitting down to a bean bag acting all lovey dovey made her want to throw up, she had no idea how Victoria could sell herself so easily. He had literally broke her heart and the second he got back she was all guzzi with everything. Pathetic.

Alex lowered her can and looked around the room of people. "Brett, are you up to a truth or dare?" She asked. "Choose."

Brett / 21 - Hadi / 21

Brett first responded to the comforting half hug from his bunny, as reassuring as always. He gave her an equally reassuring hug, before she looked toward Ryan. Brett followed the direction her eyes pointed to, catching Ryan cooking and cleaning. He raised his eyebrows, consistently feeling surprised by Ryan's demeanor. Brett couldn't put his finger on it, but he was more stable. The more he felt guilty for doubting Ryan so much, but it was understandable. Brett didn't blame himself for feeling that way. He had left Victoria for a week, and shoved him until the point where his legs weakened. Brett needed to remind himself of this. He felt useless for being easily won over. He needed to remember Kieran telling him Ryan was shit, because he had acted like one.

Before he could remind himself of his values, Victoria almost whispered at him. Humiliating Ryan in public? He gulped lightly. Brett hadn't done anything. Hadi had. Rat out his best friend? Lie to his other one? Brett didn't have to answer before she sauntered over to Ryan, giving him time to think about it and just relax for now.

He ran his hand through his hair and tried to consider what to do. Run off with Kieran again like always? Fuck truth and dare. All these games went to shit. Alex's truth was already shit. Knowing Hadi, the fucking idiot had a clear plot and narrative.

Ryan and Victoria joined in as a duo. He didn't know how to feel. Brett was a bit nervous, admittedly. He didn't know whether he was able to laugh the same way in Ryan's presence. He was also nervous Hadi would be a total c*nt to Ryan in front of Victoria. Hadi was already giving a questioning glance toward the odd couple without paying too much mind.

They both listened to Alex's response, thinking the same thing. Brett definitely related to that, and Hadi nodded slowly as if to deeply agree. Yeah, Hadi also thought of shorty and Irish mofo over there - getting their sh*t together like Alex mentioned.

"Dare," Brett shrugged lightly and thought Alex would give him more of a lighthearted, perhaps fun dare. Truths were more flexible and capable of reaching depths Brett wasn't able to reach.

"Go hard on him," Hadi encouraged her, enabling her to be just a bit more tougher than she probably would've been. He almost wanted to joke about Alex finally getting revenge on the softboy she had scolded so violently at the masquerade.

Alex looked at Brett who chose a dare, she just nodded and smiled to him as she started to think. Hadi's comment made her chuckle "Oh I don't think I can go hard on him from the start, he might get scared." Alex joked as he turned her eyes to Hadi and laughed a little. Alex took her last sip of the can and placed it on to the coffee table.

Alex looked back at Brett and scratched her chin playfully. "Okay Brett.. I dare you to rank up your top three kissing companions." She said and smiled to him. "I'll give you time to think about it while I get a new drink." She said and chuckled as she got up from the couch and walked to the kitchen.

She walked straight to the fridge and took two cans of her drinks and walked back. Her first drink had gotten almost fully empty from her last chug, so she now wanted to be prepared with more than just one can. She just wanted to brush off every negative thought from her head and have fun. She was so tired of the Fiji trip that she was just happy to be home and relax truly. Vacations were exhausting.
Alex flops to the couch and places her cans on the table. "Okay. Whenever you're ready."
